When to Use Fucibet Cream?

Fucibet Cream isn't intended to treat general eczema and dermatitis, but it can be a beneficial medication if the skin suffers a bacterial infection. The active ingredients of fusidic acid and betamethasone work together to relieve pain and treat the infection.

In most cases, you'll apply the cream twice daily for up to 14 days, which should clear the infection.

Age Restrictions

Fucibet Cream is suitable for adults and children aged six or over. It's not licensed for use in younger children, but your doctor can offer alternative solutions that will suit them.

How Do I Use Fucibet Cream?

A thin layer should be applied topically to the affected area twice daily for up to two weeks. Once applied, leave Fucibet cream to soak into the inflamed skin and treat the skin condition for up to 30 minutes before applying any other creams or topical treatments.

When to Avoid Using It?

While Fucibet Cream is an effective and safe treatment for most people, there are certain occasions when you should avoid using it and opt for safer alternatives. These include:

  • Fungal and Viral Infections: Fucibet Cream does not treat viral or fungal skin infections. If your bacterial infection is left untreated, you might need a stronger alternative.
  • Near the Eyes: Using Fucibet for extended periods on the face might cause skin thinning and worsen conditions like acne and rosacea. If the cream gets into your eyes, it can cause irritation and injuries.
  • For Extended Periods: Long-term use of Fucibet can lead to serious side effects, including skin thinning and future resistance to antibiotics.

Precautions

Please read the instruction leaflet carefully before using Fucibet Cream. Sensitivities or allergies to any ingredients can result in allergic reactions. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, please avoid using the cream unless your doctor says it's safe to do so.

While the cream is suitable for children aged six and over, their skin is more sensitive, and they might experience more side effects. Please follow your doctor's advice.

Ingredients

Fucibet cream treats eczema and dermatitis when a bacterial infection is present. It is a combination treatment suitable for reducing skin inflammation and treating a secondary bacterial infection. It contains two active ingredients: fusidic acid 2% and betamethasone valerate 0.1%.

Fusidic acid is the antibacterial component that fights the bacterial infection. Fusidic acid is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections. While it doesn't kill bacteria, it works by stopping the production of new proteins within the bacteria, thus preventing them from multiplying and spreading.

Betamethasone valerate is the steroid component that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching. It belongs to the family of medicines called topical corticosteroids. These are topical treatments used to treat eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions. Betamethasone valerate works by penetrating skin cells and reducing the release of inflammatory-causing substances.
