    Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Relief Capsules combine potent ingredients that soothe cold and flu symptoms, including fever, runny nose, headache, and body aches. The daytime capsules include caffeine to help you stay focused and alert during the day, while the nighttime capsules include paracetamol to promote a good night's sleep. Each formulation contains phenylephrine (a decongestant) which lessens sinus pressure. It's suitable for adults and children aged 16 and over and contains paracetamol, phenylephrine and caffeine.

Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Relief Capsules combat cold and flu symptoms, such as a sore throat, cough, fever or runny nose. They're designed to work around the clock thanks to their potent active ingredients - paracetamol, phenylephrine and caffeine.

  • How do I take Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Relief Capsules?

    Daytime capsules:

    Adults and children over 16 years: 

    Swallow two red and yellow daytime capsules every four to six hours as necessary. Avoid exceeding any more than six red and yellow capsules in one day.

    Nighttime capsules:

    Swallow two blue and red nighttime capsules at bedtime. Avoid exceeding any more than eight capsules in 24 hours. Avoid giving to children below 16 years old.

    Avoid taking Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Relief Capsules if you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, an enlarged prostate or overactive thyroid.

    Avoid Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Relief Capsules if you are currently taking antidepressants or another type of decongestant medication.

    Avoid taking any other medicines that include paracetamol.

  • How long can I take Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Capsules?

    You can use Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Capsules for a maximum of three days. If your symptoms persist for over three days or become worse, contact your GP or one of our pharmacists.

  • Can I take Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Capsules if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

    No, you should avoid Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Capsules if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak to your healthcare professional before taking any medication while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Side Effects

You may experience side effects when taking Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold and Flu Relief Capsules, but this is rare. 

Common side effects

  • Being sick.
  • Upset stomach.
  • Diarrhoea.

Less common

  • Skin rash.
  • Breathing problems.

The daytime capsules include caffeine which, in some people, can lead to restlessness, insomnia and nervousness. The nighttime capsules contain paracetamol. If taken in high doses over prolonged periods, this can lead to liver damage.
